FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

TipMash:  An Idea Whose Time Has Come

(SAN DIEGO, CA-June 1st, 2012) When new online publishers Dawn and Brad from TheMissStory.com set out to create a way for their writers to be financially compensated for the work published on their site, they had no idea they would stumble upon a whole new way for the public to support new independent media throughout the Internet.  TipMash.com is their solution, a digital tip jar that readers and fans can quickly and easily use to send content creators a micropayment tip of $1 and up for their work online.  It is free and simple for writers, bloggers, video producers, poets, musicians and all other artists to register at TipMash.com and begin using their unique TipMash™ identification code or link within all of their content immediately.

Have you really ever stopped to think what makes the Internet so awesome and wonderfully addicting?  The place you keep returning to over and over again? It is that inspiring graphic quote that showed up on your social media newsfeed that made you say ‘enough genetically modified food already!’  It is that video that taught you how to survive in a forest with only a knife.  It is that article that gave you the courage to walk away from a toxic relationship with your head held high. It is that research paper that helped you to make a conscious health decision.  It is that photograph that enlightened you to a newly discovered underground city. It is the free application you downloaded that helps you meditate. It is that football blog that analyzes all of the college stats so you can talk with the best of them.  It is that stunning painting captured digitally that allowed you to see life in a grander way.  It is that one friend that finds and shares all of the best articles, quotes, music and videos on your favorite social network. It is that out-of-this-world recipe that was the hit of the party. We all love the Internet for our own reasons and behind each of them are creative artists that for the most part go largely unpaid for their time, energy and gifts to the world.

“We believe people want a way to support NEW Media and to help keep the Internet free and flowing with awesomeness and in the hands of those who create it,” says TipMash™ co-founder Dawn Parker-Waites.  “We are also showing what social capitalism can look like.”

TipMash™ will also be releasing what will be called the TipMash™ Independent Media (IM) Syndication Network, an Independent Media wire service for all TipMash™ Members to access and submit press releases, articles, videos and all other content. All TipMash™ Members will be able to freely use and republish content on their own websites and other platforms as long as they keep the original creators TipMash™ link within it.  Essentially this has allowed for the effortless syndication for Member content throughout the Web.

“When you run across great content, remember the work that went into your new knowledge, entertainment or pleasure and ask yourself if you value it as much as the bartender bringing you that beer?  If so, give ‘em some love so they can eat will ya?!   And if they don’t know about TipMash™ yet, give them a different kind of tip!” offers Dawn Parker-Waites with a smile.

BIOs:

Contact Dawn and Brad at: DandB@TipMash.com

Bio:  Dawn and Brad met online and worked on a website project together in January of this year.  They quickly realized they had a lot of the same values and visions for how the world could be a much better place.  Dawn flew to Miami on Valentine’s Day to meet him. Brad moved from Miami to San Diego to co-habitate with Dawn and work more closely to begin co-creating their ideas.  They launched the first of Dawn’s visions, TheMissStory.com on Earth Day.  It is a new media publishing platform for the mystery… The Other Side of the Story… and the mystical feminine side in each of us. Now they have launched TipMash.com.

Dawn has a background in the sustainability and green movement.  She ran a regional web portal in San Diego about green living for four years and just recently took the website down when she began to put her energy in her new publishing venture.  She has served on non-profit boards, organized events and even taught a college course in a green energy management program during that time. Because of this journey into the state of the environment, she has often felt like she was in the front of a train heading for a cliff with all of her colleagues that know the reality of the situation, while everyone else is in the back of the train partying. She realizes now it is not so much the case, we just are all waiting for some exciting new ideas to emerge that will render all of what is no longer working obsolete.  She sees TipMash.com as being one such idea and they took it and ran with it. And are still laughing at how fun it has been creating it.  She really intends for TipMash to be a paradigm shift in the way we all support the talented creators and artists that bring all the treasures that make the Internet so special.

Brad has an extremely eclectic background ranging between extreme technologies and extreme humanities. Like Dawn, Brad is a rebellious visionary, a crusader with a cause and the cause is to leave the world in a better condition than it was when he arrived.
